Who Wants to be a Yoga Instructor

Becoming a yoga instructor is a great way to practice yoga and at the same time instructing new students and those who continue to learn. As well as teaching poses and breathing you will learn that yoga instruction is a very specialized career. It is possible to make a good living teaching yoga, some of the factors that might effect the type of living you do make would include which part of the country you in and your ability to sell yourself to new students. If you are thinking about teaching yoga to students then you should have a big passion for the art. If you do have that passion then guiding people down their yoga path can be very rewarding. It is important to show that passion to new students by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere as well as having all the equipment and everything ready for the students when they arrive to follow your instruction.

You may think that practising yoga to a group of students is the way that you will make your entire income. In order to add individual training to your income you must be highly organized and a good communicator. It can also be very rewarding to watch a student progress through this type of training. It should be noted as well that many of these sessions take place on evenings and weekends so you should understand that these are the times you should be available to teach.

As a yoga instructor who finds a job working for someone else you will probably be required to be certified, if you are certified then at present the job opportunities are expected to be very good.

One more thing that should be remembered should you continue to show interest in becoming a yoga instructor is the fact that essentially you are working for yourself and starting a business. Since this is the case it should be understood that there will be no dental plan or retire fund waiting for you. You will have to set up any of these safety nets yourself once you embark on this career.

If you find a job as a yoga instructor you can expect to earn, according to a recent Los Angeles Times article around an hour, some studio will add – extra per student over ten that attends your class. If you find a job instructing in a corperate setting you can earn as much as an hour or more.

Whether you decide to work for yourself or look for an employer within the yoga instucting business you should know that it is possible to have a good career as well as to inspire others to practise yoga. It can be a great career choice for those who have found that yoga has become not just something that has become part of their lives, but has become an important part of their lifestyle.
